To learn to understand and love turtles

Located in Garriguella, the center is located on the grounds of the Sanctuary of the Camp 30 kilometers from the rural tourism house Mas El Brugué, the goal of the Albera Turtle Breeding Center, is the captive breeding of the Mediterranean turtle , a species in serious danger of extinction, in order to reduce the significant youth mortality that occurs in nature, and thus have a significant number of individuals in order to release them and enhance the natural populations.

The Center also serves educational purposes, attracting families, groups and all kinds of people, teaching them to understand turtles and the Mediterranean forest, and not to catch or disturb these animals.

The center also hosts exotic turtles to prevent them from being released into the wild and for them to compete and harm native populations.

Visitors and lovers of turtles have the opportunity to sponsor a turtle. Those who do so will receive a diploma, information on the state and evolution of the turtle. And you will also receive a ticket to visit the center whenever you want.

The visit is quick, it is done in one or two hours, depending on the time you spend in each area. There is also a room with a very interesting audiovisual.
