We recommend going up to the Hermitage of Santa Magdalena

The Empordà sanctuary par excellence (17th century). Located in Terrades (Alt Empordà), it houses a collection of votive offerings and is one of the most devoted shrines in the region and many groups and organizations are entrusted annually to the Virgin, patron saint of athletes, and they make offerings. The sanctuary is located on a very wooded slope of the Santa Magdalena Valley, 400 m above sea level. At the back is an esplanade with parking and an area with tables and barbecues for outdoor lunches and picnics.

Once there, it is a good decision to go up to the Hermitage of Santa Magdalena, located at 570 meters above sea level, it was restored in the 15th century, it is surrounded by large rocks and from above you can see a beautiful view. To get there you have to take the paved road to the Sanctuary of the Health of Terrades, and from there continue on foot and take a signposted and well-made path, it is a pleasant 30-minute excursion. From above, you can see the Albera Massif, the Puig Neulós, Les Salines, among others, and also observe the Boadella reservoir.
